The theme of this year’s conference is “Soli Deo Gloria” (To God Alone be the Glory). This is a phrase that grew out of the Protestant Reformation and was used on every composition written by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is a phrase I’m sure you are familiar with, but it is a phrase with which we must never become too familiar because it captures the ultimate motivation for life and ministry: God’s glory. Let’s examine this time-honored phrase that will call us back to what is most foundational: living and pastoring for the glory of God alone.
